At Landscape Artistry, we believe a great landscape should complement your home, suit your property, and work for the way you want to live outdoors.
We're an owner-operated landscape design and installation company based in Parrish, Florida. Whether you're starting with a newly built home, updating an established yard, or planning a complete landscape transformation, we bring the experience, creativity, and hands-on expertise to turn your ideas into a beautiful, functional outdoor space.
Meet Buck Peterson: The Experience Behind Landscape Artistry
Buck Peterson is a Manatee County native with over 20 years of hands-on experience in landscape design and installation, including more than a decade running his own landscaping business.
His experience covers custom landscape design, tropical plant and palm selection, sourcing quality materials, equipment operation, and hands-on installation.
As the owner of Landscape Artistry, Buck remains personally involved throughout the process. From meeting homeowners and walking their properties to selecting materials and overseeing installations, he takes pride in making sure the details are handled properly.
When you work with us, you're not simply handing your project over to a crew. You're working directly with an experienced landscape professional who understands your vision and knows what it takes to bring it to life.
Whether you're creating a tropical landscape around your pool, finishing a new-construction property, or transforming an existing outdoor space, Buck brings the knowledge to connect landscape design, planting, hardscaping, irrigation, and drainage into one thoughtful plan.
Creative Ideas Grounded in Florida Conditions
Beautiful landscaping starts with understanding the property, not simply choosing plants that look good.
We consider how you want to use your outdoor space, the style of your home, and the conditions that will influence how your landscape performs over time.
Here in Southwest Florida, that means planning around sandy soils, intense sun, seasonal rainfall, drainage, irrigation, and the space plants need as they mature. For properties closer to the coast, salt exposure can also influence plant selection and landscape planning.
We bring our local experience and creative approach together to recommend plants, materials, and improvements that complement your property and work together naturally.
Our goal is to create a landscape that looks beautiful on installation day and continues to make sense as it grows and matures.
Design and Installation That Work Together
We specialize in custom landscape design and installation, helping homeowners create outdoor spaces that feel complete, balanced, and suited to their properties.
Our work includes new-home landscaping, complete landscape transformations, tropical and poolside plantings, and custom landscape improvements. Depending on your project, we can also incorporate sod installation, decorative rock, landscape lighting, and tree services.
When a project calls for more than planting, we can bring hardscaping, gravel or paver driveways, patios, walkways, retaining and seating walls, new irrigation systems, and drainage improvements into the same overall plan.
By considering these elements together, we can help ensure the finished landscape looks cohesive and functions as intended.
Our focus is on designing, building, and improving outdoor spaces rather than providing routine lawn mowing or ongoing landscape maintenance.
A Clear Plan, Even When the Work Happens in Stages
You don't need a finished landscape design or a complete list of plants and materials before getting started.
Bring us your ideas, show us what isn't working, and tell us what you'd like your property to become.
We'll start by walking the property with you, discussing your goals, and understanding the opportunities and challenges of the space. From there, we'll help you determine which improvements make sense and how they can work together.
For larger projects, we can also plan improvements in stages, making sure the work completed today supports what you may want to add later.
Buck remains personally involved from the initial property walk-through through installation, so you'll have direct access to someone who understands your project and its details.
We believe good communication, practical recommendations, and careful planning are just as important as the finished installation.
